About Us

Cafe 1217 is located at 1217 Malvern Avenue and is owned by Diana Bratton. She has operated the café since August of 1997.

Named for it’s street address, this bistro in Hot Springs is based on the concept that really fresh and tasty food will keep them coming back. Diana comes from a family of 9 children, she is number 8, and she attributes her cooking roots from being from such a large family and her mother's flair for cooking. She attended cooking school in Dallas, Texas and continues her education at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. Her husband Shane Bratton is also key to her success by continually encouraging her and giving her marketing ideas.

Cafe 1217 has offered catering services in Hot Springs and the surrounding areas since its’ inception. They cater small intimate affairs to large galas for several hundred people. The café also takes special orders for smaller events on or off the menu.

Special attention to seasonal herbs and produce help Diana create her menus, which change monthly. The café still has its base of customer favorites, such as the Southwest Cobb Salad , Shrimp and Crawfish cakes and a wide variety of homey desserts. “We make it all from scratch”, says Diana. She prides herself on this.
